SEAL PRODUCT MANAGERSkills / Qualifications / Pre-requisites
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to develop and manage Branch and Independent distributors
- Good knowledge of bearing and seal
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, organisational, analytical and computer skills
- Ability to deal with senior levels within organisations and to work effectively with suppliers at all levels
- Proven management and leadership skills
- Sound knowledge of sales and product costing.
- Mature verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise, initiate and follow up on plans, meet deadlines
Overall Job Description:
- Achieve or exceed the Power Transmission products budgets by generating revenue through sales and marketing of designated Power Transmission products.
Key Areas of Responsibility :
- Principal results expected from job which would enable performance to be measured (NOT duties/activities).
- Evaluate, maintain and develop sales potential in Sea within existing and potential customer base.
- Develop plans and objectives to achieve new businesses in target areas as targeted.
- Develop and convey the concept of a value-added partnership between the customer and SKF ie build the culture of SKF as a solutions provider - assist in the transition from the perception of SKF as a bearing brand to a Knowledge Engineering company and value adding supplier.
- Manage client relationship with professional after sales support of products.
- Maintain effective Seal products programs to ensure Branch and Independent Distributor staff are competent in selling the products
- Generate and evaluate new product concepts, investigate market opportunities and estimate their effect on markets for present products
- Plan and co-ordinate the development and introduction of new products through Product Managers, including marketing, pricing, financial, engineering and manufacturing aspects.
- Ensure SKF’s supplier criteria standards and guidelines, both core and secondary, in. line with SKF's corporate strategic plans
- Competitor intelligence in respect to pricing, products, product and service innovations
